You are warmly invited to our upcoming seminar on Tuesday, April 15th, 2025, at 5 PM GMT. Our guest speaker, Professor Deborah Stienstra, will present on the theme, "What Changes When We Include Women and Girls with Disabilities?"
Professor Stienstra holds the Jarislowsky Chair in Families and Work at the University of Guelph, where she is also the Director of the Live Work Well Research Centre and a Professor of Political Science. She is the author of About Canada: Disability Rights (Fernwood, 2020). Her research and publications examine the intersections of disability, gender, childhood, and Indigenous identity, focusing on both the barriers and opportunities for engagement and transformative change.
Over the past fifteen years, she has led community-engaged research collaborations, including the Disability and Livelihoods partnership, the Reimagining Livelihoods project, and the Engendering Disability Inclusive Development/Genre, Handicap et Développement Inclusif (EDID-GHDI) partnership.
